A Champion vs. Champion match for dual title belts (TBS Championship from AEW and Strong Championship from NJPW) has been announced for the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 event set for later this month.
During the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, it was confirmed that TBS Champion Mercedes Mone will defend her title against NJPW Strong Women's Champion Stephanie Vaquer. The winner of the match will leave Forbidden Door PPV as a double champion.

Interestingly, Mone is getting to compete for the NJPW Strong title, something that was reportedly created last year specifically after she signed up with the Japanese wrestling promotion. Due to injury, Willow Nightingale got to become the inaugural champion.
Last month at Double or Nothing PPV, Mone defeated Nightingale to win the TBS Championship and then threw a celebration on Dynamite which was interrupted by Skye Blue to set up a match between the two.
After Mone successfully defended the TBS title against Skye Blue in what marked her first match on Dynamite, Stephanie Vaquer entered the arena stage and had a staredown with Mone to set up the bout for Forbidden Door.
Speaking of the cross-promotional event, All Elite Wrestling also confirmed the Women's World Title match for the show where the champion Toni Storm will defend against Mina Shirakawa. After Storm issued a challenge to Shirakawa, the two had a face-off on Dynamite.
In more news around Forbidden Door's third edition, the fray for a Ladder Match to crown the new TNT Champion receives one more participant in Mark Briscoe who defeated Brian Cage on Dynamite.
Konosuke Takeshita defeated Penta El 0 Miedo on last week's Rampage to become the first participant in this ladder match. Takeshita appeared in the crowd next to Don Callis to applaud Briscoe's victory.
The 2024 AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view is scheduled for Sunday, June 30 at the UBS Arena on Long Island in New York. The match card of the show after this week's Dynamite goes as follows:
