The cross-promotional event featuring All Elite Wrestling & New Japan Pro Wrestling is all set for later this month in the form of the third annual Forbidden Door edition and it appears the AEW Women's World Championship will be on the line on that night.
With fans wondering who the champion Toni Storm's next opponent will be, she herself took the opportunity to challenge Stardom star Mina Shirakawa for a title bout which should be made official for Forbidden Door in a few days.

During Stardom's event at Korakuen Hall this weekend, Mina Shirakawa was in the ring when the lights went out and a pre-taped video played on the tron where Storm appeared with Mariah May and reminded that Shirakawa came to May's aid when she wasn't around.
The Timeless one further said that the forbidden door was now open through which she was challenging Shirakawa to a match. She was eager to see what kind of woman Shirakawa really was by squaring off against her.
"Mina-san, I've been watching your work in AEW. There's no need to knock or ring the doorbell. Because the forbidden door is open! I'd love for you to come. But don't worry. Mariah is my friend! I just want to know what kind of woman you really are."
In response, Shirakawa said that everyone wanted her and that she would face Storm anywhere at any time. The Japanese star also mentioned Storm's catchphrase "Watch out for me" to end the promo.
Shirakawa has made recent appearances on AEW and ROH television. Most notably, she kissed Mariah May on the April 10 edition of AEW Dynamite and also had the latter's back since then in the absence of Storm to rekindle their friendship.
On the April 24 episode of AEW Dynamite, Shirakawa defeated Anna Jay in a singles contest. Now that a program with Storm is on the horizon around Forbidden Door, it might create a rift in the existing bond between May and Storm.
The 2024 AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 pay-per-view is scheduled for Sunday, June 30 at the UBS Arena on Long Island in New York. The current official match card for the show goes as follows:
