New Delhi, Sep 1: As the injury season is just getting heated up, we are getting reports of another Raw-superstar suffering the same fate.

The concerned superstar now is none other than the former number one contender for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship, Samoa Joe. Needless to mention that he was also the one-fourth of this year’s Summerslam main event, as well.

The Destroyer arrived in the WWE through the NXT roster. Prior to the WWE, he has already become a force to reckon with in other promotions. So, it did not take her long time to receive a push and become a first-ever two-time NXT Champion.

The same rule followed even after he came to the main roster of the WWE at the beginning of this year. He justified his name by going toe-to-toe against the beast incarnate, Brock Lesnar, as well.

Since he failed to earn the Universal Championship, for now, the next planning for him was against The Miz and his Intercontinental title, after what happened, last week. But, to the surprise of the fans, he was not even present on this week’s Raw.

The reason was clarified in a report from Dave Meltzer where he stated that Samoa Joe suffered a knee injury in a match against John Cena at Jonesboro, Arkansas over the last weekend. This is the reason why he missed Sunday night’s house show as well as Raw.

It is to be noted that a match between John Cena and Samoa was scheduled to feature on Raw, originally. But, the match got called off since the latter one turned out to be incompetent. Cena & Reigns teamed up again to take on Gallows-Anderson, rather.

Neither WWE.com nor Samoa Joe himself officially acknowledged the injury, till now. According to the source, this knee injury is supposed to sideline him from in-ring competition for at least six weeks of time. We expect to learn the details and extent of the injury of the Samoan Submission Machine in due course.
