Bengaluru, August 25: It was earlier reported that Asuka, the most dominant champion in the history of the division suffered an injury at the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III event.

She was thrown in a bad way by her opponent Ember Moon during their show-stealing match leading to the damage in her collarbone. Although she was able to finish the match, the WWE doctors had to address immediately after it.

This also put her champion status in jeopardy. She has surpassed the landmark of 500 days with an undefeated streak. Following the NXT special event, it was uncertain whether she will be able to defend it anymore or not.

All of those speculations came to an end as Asuka appeared at the recent NXT tapings at the Full Sail University in Orlando. Florida to officially address the situation.

She decided to relinquish the title that marked the end of her reign. Although the episode is still not televised, WWE.com has confirmed the ongoing on the official website stating,

"NXT Women's Champion Asuka relinquished her title to NXT General Manager William Regal tonight at Full Sail University in Orlando, Fla.

After her dominant performance and historic 500-plus day reign as NXT Women's Champion, The Empress of Tomorrow looks to her future for new opportunities in WWE, though no specific details are known at this time. Her reign will officially end on the date that her historic announcement airs."

Triple H, the chief brand officer and William Regal, general manager of NXT was also present at the moment alongside the NXT female roster who came out to bid Asuka farewell. It is clear from the statement that she will stop performing on NXT, as well.

Regal has already in talks with the Raw and Smackdown GMs for trading the precious champion to a certain show. As for now, she will be on a hiatus for more than two months, supposedly. Upon return, she will make her main roster debut, directly.
