Women’s Tag Team Championships will be defended on WWE’s next premium live event in Germany at Bash in Berlin's inaugural edition set around a week from now, as confirmed on the latest episode of SmackDown.

In a prior announcement from the show’s General Manager Nick Aldis on social media it was originally announced that The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) will defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against former champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair at the upcoming PLE.

This would be a return for the reigning champions to their home territory where they would love to utilize the crowd’s support and thereby recreate the same environment where they won the titles, a couple of months ago.

Fyre and Dawn surprised the WWE Universe by winning the titles at the June WWE PLE Clash at the Castle in their home country of Scotland. Belair & Cargill then received a rematch on the August 2 episode of SmackDown.

The titles didn’t change hands as the match ended via DQ after Blair Davenport ran in and made the save for the champions, and thus also saved the titles on behalf of the champions. Cargill defeated Fyre in a singles match on SmackDown, the following week.

Also at Bash in Berlin, WWE United States Champion LA Knight will issue an open challenge for his title. This week, LA successfully defended the belt against Santos Escobar on SmackDown and cut a promo to inform about the upcoming title match.

In a live backstage segment, LA laid out the open challenge via a solo promo. As of this writing, it’s unclear whether the title match will be placed at the PLE or the go-home SmackDown episode.

LA mentioned Berlin in his promo which kept the confusion around his next title match as SmackDown will also take place in the same location as the PLE. Earlier this month at SummerSlam, he defeated Logan Paul to win the title to commence his first championship run in the WWE.

The 2024 Bash in Berlin premium live event will be the first-of-its-kind in its genre, emanating from the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany on Saturday, August 31. Currently, five confirmed and one unconfirmed match are scheduled for the event as given below,

– WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Gunther (c) vs. Randy Orton

– Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens

– Mixed Tag Team Match: Rhea Ripley & Damian Priest vs. Liv Morgan & Dominik Mysterio

– Strap Match: CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre

– Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn) (c) vs. Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair

– LA Knight’s United States Championship open challenge.
