The second title match has been made official for the Bash in Berlin WWE premium live event set within three weeks from now. It will be Cody Rhodes defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against an unprecedented opponent.
In the opening segment of the post-SummerSlam episode of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes said that he has been thinking about who he'll defend his title against at Bash in Berlin. In response, Solo Sikoa came out with Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa.

Solo reminded that if it wasn't for Roman Reigns, he would be the WWE Champion at SummerSlam. Solo also wanted a rematch for the title, a pledge that was denied. Tama and Tonga were then about to attack Cody.
Kevin Owens came out with two steel chairs as Solo and his cohorts opted to retreat. It was then that Cody proposed to Owens to become his next challenger for the WWE Title for all his help against The Bloodline over the past few months.
Owens was reluctant to agree to this proposition given his worse win-loss record. However, Rhodes said that he was going backstage to have a conversation with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis to make this championship match official.
Then in a follow-up backstage segment, Nick Aldis revealed to both Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes that he's thinking about giving an Undisputed WWE Championship rematch to Roman Reigns which Owens strongly disagreed with.
Owens said if Aldis wants a challenger for Cody, he should check the SmackDown roster instead of just giving away Roman a title match for his star power. Aldis then officially announced Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens for the WWE Championship at Bash in Berlin.
With that, the overall second bout for the international premium live event is set. Already announced for the show on Raw is the WWE World Heavyweight Title match where the new champion Gunther will defend against Randy Orton.
WWE Bash in Berlin premium live event will take place on Saturday, August 31 at the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany. It will stream, live at 1 PM Eastern Time on Peacock/WWE Network.
