Becky Lynch Captures WWE NXT Women's Title For First Time

Former Raw and SmackDown women's champion "The Man" Becky Lynch defeated Tiffany Stratton in the main event of Tuesday (September 12) night's WWE NXT to win the NXT Women's title for the first time in her career.

A six-time World Champion and one time Tag Team Champion, Lynch had won all the championships in the Women's division on the main roster and had also become the Sixth Women's Triple Crown Champion.

However, despite holding all the major championships in the WWE women's division, she had never won the NXT Women's Championship, which she finally clinched on Tuesday (September 12) night.

Lynch, who was part of the developmental brand from 2013-2015 before her main roster move, had not won the Women's championship in NXT as she spent most of her time in NXT in tag teams and non-title matches.

But she did have a couple of shots at the NXT Women's Championship in multi-star matches like Fatal 4-Way & Triple Threat, in which she had failed to capture the gold. She, however, got the push to the main roster to be part of Women's Revolution by forming Team PCB with Paige and Charlotte.

Since her main roster move, she is a two-time Raw Women's champion and four-time SmackDown Women's champion. Lynch also won the 2019 Women's Royal Rumble and got the opportunity to main event WrestleMania that year. She also won the tag team gold with Hall of Famer Lita.

Despite all her accomplishments on the main roster, the WWE NXT Women's Title had eluded her until last night when she defeated the champion post a short storyline to add another title to her resume.

The final sequence of the match saw Stratton go for her 'Prettiest Moonsault Ever' and Lynch dodged it. Stratton was able to roll to her feet but she walked into the Manhandle Slam which put Stratton down for a three count.

Lynch, aka Rebecca Quinn, was ecstatic about the latest title win in her post fight reaction in the backstage and took to social media to post: "Welcome to N-BEX-T," on X (formerly known as Twitter).
