Clarification On Becky Lynch Asking For $2 Million Contract For WWE Return

After fulfilling her obligations with the WWE via her previous contract with the company, Beck Lynch headed into a hiatus. Since no new negotiation regarding contract renewal occurred, uncertainty surrounded her WWE career and that situation still persists.

Being a free agent at this point, the former women's champion could show up at any professional wrestling promotion other than the WWE but reports do claim that her loyalty to the TKO-owned brand will eventually drag her back.

On the latest Backstage Pass episode, Jonathan Coachman mentioned that Becky Lynch has asked for $2 million a year to sign a new contract with the WWE and that the company didn't agree or else we have already seen her return.

To clarify things, Fightful Select reports that WWE insiders dismissed Coachman's statements, confirming that WWE remains on good terms with her and that there's no beef regarding a specific demand made by the marquee star power.

WWE reportedly respects Lynch's choice to take time off due to personal reasons after her recent run. It was further noted that if she had wanted to sign a new deal before leaving, an agreement would have been reached.

"From the time Becky Lynch left WWE, both sides seemed to believe that whenever the time came for Becky to return, it'd likely be there. She's enjoying her time off, and the company is trying to respect that."

Regarding the $2 million figure, the source stated that Lynch never asked for that amount as the sum would be considered a bargain given her value. WWE's pay scales have risen and hence her next wrestling contract is expected to rise.

In late October, the multi-time women's champion announced her next public appearance at the Vulture Festival on November 17, teasing conversations about her book, career, and possibly what's next in her professional wrestling career.

Before her previous contract expired on June 1st, Becky Lynch dropped the Women's World Title to Liv Morgan at the King and Queen of the Ring premium live event. Two nights later on Raw, her final TV match came against Liv Morgan inside a Steel Cage.
