First-Ever Two-Night WWE SummerSlam PLE Announced From NY/NJ Region For 2025

WWE's annual premium live event, SummerSlam is expanding earlier than expected into the two-night format starting from next year from the New York/New Jersey area. The official announcement came through WWE's multiple social media platforms, last night.

It's been confirmed that WWE SummerSlam 2025 will take place at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3. This will be the first time that this particular show will be a two-night event.

Plus, SummerSlam also becomes the second-only WWE PLE to become a two-night extravaganza in the overall WWE schedule. Previously, the company announced that the 2026 edition from Minneapolis, Minnesota will also have a similar format.

MetLife Stadium is the home of the New York Giants and New York Jets and it previously hosted WrestleMania 29 in 2013 and WrestleMania 35 in 2019. WWE has a deal with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority for this deal to host SummerSlam 2025 in that region.

"New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and the entire NJSEA team have been phenomenal partners, hosting several major UFC events in recent years including the record-breaking UFC 302 in June," Peter Dropick, TKO Executive Vice President of Event Development and Operations stated in a press release.

This will also be the first time that SummerSlam emanates from the NY/NJ area since the 2018 installment. In that year, the PLE took place at the Barclays Center to finish a 4-year-long spree.

A video teaser was revealed around the upcoming show featuring Cardi B and former WWE Women's Champion Bianca BeLair about SummerSlam transitioning into the WrestleMania format as the second-biggest PLE of the year.

This is the first time that Cardi B was actively seen promoting a WWE event. Back in 2021, WWE had high hopes of involving the celebrity rapper in their SummerSlam event in some capacity but nothing came to fruition.
