First-ever WWE Women’s Royal Rumble match to be announced

Bengaluru, November 26: As they say, this is the right time for any of the female athletes around the world to be a part of the WWE as the Women’s Evolution begins to grow in full force and might be at its peak. The May Young Classic exclusive of the WWE Network earlier in the summer was a huge success.

As a result, we witnessed the first-ever Money in the Bank ladder match and expect to get another one in near future. According to the source, Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE creative is in early talks for holding a Women’s Royal Rumble match in January 2018.

No wonder, this will be the “first-of-its-kind” match in the history of the pro-wrestling industry. No company in the history of sports entertainment has come up with such a path-breaking idea where multiple female superstars will compete for an opportunity to figh the Women’s Champion.

Now, the theme of the Royal Rumble match suggests that the winner of the match gets a main-event ticket to Wrestlemania. With the women also set to compete for a similar match, it means the chances of female superstars main eventing the grandest stage will be reallized with this brilliant move.

The idea of hosting the Women’s Royal Rumble match was on the radar of the WWE Creative, this year, as well. However, due to lack of plan by the creative, it never came to fruition. But, with the number of increasing gimmick matches, next year it has a better chance to become a reality.

This will be a dual brand PPV and hence women from both, Raw, and Smackdown can compete in the match. In addition, there have been some NXT call-ups, as well to fill in for the match.

The Royal Rumble 2018 edition will be hosted at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 28.
