Former WWE superstar Alberto Del Rio becomes new World Heavyweight Champion

New Delhi, March 3: The news of Alberto Del Rio signing up with the Impact Wrestling promotion was revealed by several sources, previously.

The creative alongside Jeff Jarrett showed interest to bring the former WWE champion into the show which is witnessing some big voids, as of now.

On last night's Impact Wrestling tapings, the Mexican Superstar debuted with his now name, Alberto El Patron and challenged the reigning World champion, Bobby Lashley for a title match on the show.

Lashley accepted to set up the main event of the night in which Del Patron was declared the winner. The finishing segment was full of controversies. However, the officials did not hesitate to announce the brand new superstar's name as the champion.

It was just tapings from the show which got leaked on the internet. The actual video footages will go on the air, this Thursday where we can witness how the new champions were crowned. The former 4-time champion could not have asked for a better debut.

According to the reports from PWisider.com, the Mexican Aristocrat was hesitating while signing with the promotion. This is why his debut might get delayed to a certain extent. But, now that he is under their wings, he will receive a big push in the near future. This is why the company put the strap on him on his debuting night.

Del Rio's girlfriend, Paige was also spotted on the show, last night. She was present at the backstage while the show tapings were going on. Since she still is under contract with WWE, it is yet to see whether they take her appearance on the rival promotion, lightly or not.

Del Rio, on the other hand, might have found the rightmost place for him where he should continue to be the main event star.
