Bengaluru, December 13: It was last week that the Smackdown commissioner announced the main event match of Clash of Champions based on the ongoing feud between himself and Kevin Owens.

At one point, the prizefighter even delivered an assault to Vince McMahon and that resulted in a Hell in a Cell match and was also out of the Survivor Series PPV owing to this rivalry.

Alongside, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn also fell victim to the same consequence as he decided to form an alliance with his former best-friend.

The duo were always complaining against the commissioner for weeks about their negligent treatment and Shane came up with a plan to solve it and added them to the main event at Clash of Champions.

A tag team match was announced where these two heels would team up to take on the team of Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Furthermore, Owens and Zayn’s career will be on the line in this contest. To make sure that these two do not come up with any dirty tricks, McMahon appointed himself as the special guest referee.

Now, Daniel Bryan was definitely not happy with this announcement and came up with a counter. The General Manager inserted himself into the mix as the second guest referee into the match.

The reason explained by him is to ensure that the match gets called down right in the middle of that ring. WWE.com confirmed the updated match for the Clash of Champions night,

“Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will be fighting for their WWE careers at WWE Clash of Champions when they battle Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura in a crucial tag team showdown. And not one, but two special guest referees will be on hand to make sure the right outcome occurs. Those referees will be SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan.

See who prevails in this critical tag team battle, as Owens & Zayn will have their WWE careers hanging in the balance this Sunday at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network.”

With this confirmation being made, the situations has really been made quite interesting for the upcoming PPV. Bryan would definitely try to stop Shane’s personal vendetta against the heel tag team.

This will take their personal rift to a whole new different level that might culminate in a match. As reported earlier, there are speculations that WWE might clear Daniel Bryan to wrestle again, at some point. Some hints around this will be there on Sunday’s PPV.
