Bengaluru, November 24: John Cena returned to the WWE at the Survivor Series PPV to compete at the traditional tag team elimination match where he represented Team Smackdown upon the request of the commissioner, Shane McMahon.

On that night he was unable to lead Team Blue to the victory in his one-off night in the company at the dual brand PPV.

As per the recent updates, The Cenation Leader will stay away from the WWE to fulfill his other commitments, for some more time. He is expected to be back to perform on a regular basis at the very last week of 2017. December 26th should mark his comeback to any one brand of the WWE as a free agent.

On that night, the company will host a special house show at the Madison Square Garden Arena in New York City. Apparently, he will be part of the show. The previous advertisements were showing that he will have a match against Samoa Joe upon return. But, that has changed in the official website of MSG Arena, recently.

The updated card of the evening suggests that the main event of the night will feature John Cena Vs Roman Reigns. The two marquee players of the company had a match at the No Mercy PPV this year in September. The crowd in New York will be able to see this dream match once again.

As you can see, another gigantic bout has also been added to the match card between Kane and Braun Strowman. These two behemoths are expected to fight it out for the remaining part of the year. Also, the Raw tag team championships will be on the line inside a steel cage, for the very first time at Madison Square Garden.

Previously, The Shield was announced to share the main event spotlight. But, with Roman Reigns getting a solo contest, the card was drastically changed for that night. We have not received any announcement on Samoa Joe who was originally John Cena’s opponent at the event.
