WWE legend and multitime champion John Cena has announced that he will be wrestling for the first time in India at the Superstar Spectacle that is set to happen in Hyderabad on September 8.
It has to be noted that this will be John Cena's second visit to India, but will be the first time he gets into in-ring action or an event. In his earlier visit in 2006, Cena was in India for meet and greet events in Mumbai as part of the broadcaster plan.

Cena last wrestled in WWE at this year's WrestleMania when he faced Austin Theory with the US Championship on the line. He ended up losing the match to Theory. The Cenation Leader would then make a surprise appearance at the Money In the Bank 2023 Premium Live Event, to an incredible reception from the crowd at the O2 arena.
It was reported by Fox Sports on August 21 that the former World Champion would be returning on the 1st September edition of Friday Night SmackDown. The report also went on to state that Cena would be wrestling at the Superstar Spectacle in Hyderabad on September 8.
The news has now been confirmed by Cena himself on X, formerly known as Twitter. The 16 time World Champion said that he would be wrestling for the first time ever in India and he was excited to meet WWE fans in country.
"Cannot wait to reunite with the WWE family live on Smackdown! Especially excited to meet the WWE Universe in India and wrestle for the FIRST TIME EVER in India! The time is NOW. C U all VERY soon!!!" said Cena on X.
WWE had announced the Superstar Spectacle event in August, the company's official return to India since 2017. A host of big names like Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch and Jinder Mahal have already been advertised for the event.
WWE has hosted seven events in India, starting from way back in 1996 with legendary names like Bret Hart, Triple H and Kane among others headlining the event. The Superstar Spectacle will also be a fourth live event tour to India.
This will also mark WWE's first touchdown in Hyderabad, having previously held events in Mumbai (1996 & 2002), New Delhi (2002, 2016 & 2017), and Bengaluru in 2002 as part of a back-to-back three-event tour.
