Bengaluru, September 6: The Mae Young Classic tournament aired on the WWE Network from last week. It is path breaking series that features only female wrestlers around the world. 32 competitors from all over the globe have been a part of this one to showcase their talents with a winner that will be crowned on September 12th.
Among all of the contestants, there was an Indian wrestler as well. As reported earlier, Kavita Devi from the subcontinent participated in the tournament. By virtue of this, she became the first-ever Indian woman to perform in the WWE. She had a match with Dakota Kai in the opening round.
Kavita surprised the audience by wrestling inside the ring in an Indian unique attire. Plus, for the better part of the match, she dominated the contest with her physical strength. However, in the end, it was Kai’s speed which stood tall. As a result, Kavita lost and got knocked out of the tournament.
But, it’s worth mentioning that in the limited time provided, she was able to generate a lot of attention in the pro-wrestling circuit. As a result, her match against Kai turned out to be the highest viewed one from the Mae Young Classic till now.
As reported by wrestlezone.com, this particular match has earned more than 1.5 million views. In the second place is a match between Princesa Sugehit vs Kay Lee Ray which got 106K views. So, there’s a huge gap in numbers that indicate that how much support Kavita received from the Indian fan base.
