When two wrestling legends like Kurt Angle and John Cena are mentioned together, wrestling fans can't help but dream of a final showdown between them.
A match that would bring back the heat of their rivalry, an epic showdown that could go down in history as one for the ages. But as much as Angle would love to lace up his boots for one last fight, the reality is that this dream match is unlikely to come to life.

In a recent chat on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Kurt Angle didn't mince words when he was asked about the possibility of stepping into the ring with Cena for one last match. While the Hall of Famer expressed a burning desire to face Cena one more time, his body simply can't handle it.
"I would love to wrestle John Cena," Angle said. "There's nobody that wants to wrestle John more than I do for his retirement match. Especially with the respect I have for him. I just can't do it."
While Kurt Angle's desire to step into the ring with Cena is undeniable, his body simply can't handle it anymore. Angle has had an illustrious, but physically demanding career, and the toll it's taken is evident.
Angle explained, "If I get in the ring and I start beating myself up, I'll never heal." Even with months of preparation, the physical strain would be too much, and Angle would likely regret the decision afterward.
"I could just walk in there cold and have a match with him, but then I would probably regret it when I was done," Angle admitted. It's clear that while his heart is willing, his body isn't up for the challenge.
Though a final match between the two might be off the table, there is another way Kurt Angle could honor John Cena's incredible legacy. Angle would be honored to induct Cena into the WWE Hall of Fame, a recognition that Cena undoubtedly deserves after his extraordinary career.
"There are a lot of people that deserve to induct John," Angle acknowledged, naming Randy Orton and Stephanie McMahon as other possible choices. However, Angle emphasized that he would be deeply honored to have that privilege.
He went on to explain that Cena's career is unparalleled, especially considering he won 16 world titles all within one company-WWE. Angle believes that, by this measure, Cena could be considered the greatest WWE Superstar of all time.
Kurt Angle and John Cena's rivalry goes way back to Cena's first days in WWE. Angle was Cena's first major opponent, and their bouts helped establish Cena as a top-tier talent. Cena's early matches with Angle remain some of the most memorable in WWE history.
For Angle, his favorite match against Cena was No Mercy 2003, where he made Cena tap out. "We had a really good match. John stayed with me and worked really hard, he hit all his moves. The match was magic," Angle recalled fondly via (Wrestling Inc.). But there was also the No Way Out 2005 match, where Cena scored a major victory, positioning him as the #1 contender for the WWE Championship.
While fans may never get to witness Kurt Angle vs John Cena one last time in the ring, the respect these two share is undeniable. Their rivalry helped shape the early stages of Cena's career, and Angle remains one of Cena's biggest supporters to this day.
Although the match may not happen, the legacy of both wrestlers is firmly secured in WWE history. Fans will continue to celebrate their unforgettable moments in the ring.
