Money in the Bank 2023: World Heavyweight Championship Match announced for WWE PLE

Proving the World Heavyweight Championship the workhorse belt of the WWE, the current champion Seth Rollins will put his title on the line on next week’s Raw and then at the Money in the Bank event in early July.

During the June 12 episode of Raw, Judgment Day leader Finn Balor appeared in a promo exchange session with Seth Rollins accusing the latter of taking everything away from him, seven years ago during the summer.

Back at SummerSlam 2016, Balor defeated Seth to become the inaugural WWE Universal Champion but Seth’s buckle bomb on the barricade injured Balor and he had to vacate the title just a day later.

Remembering the story and also reminding that he defeated Roman Reigns in his first match on Raw in 2016, Balor said that he intends to return the favour and take everything away from him at Money in the Bank.

Seth said in the last 7 years, Finn got bitter while he got better. The challenge was accepted and Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor for the World Heavyweight Championship was made official for Money in the Bank 2023.

It should be noted that the World Championship will only be going down at MITB if only Seth can keep the belt around his shoulder, next week as he announced to throw an Open Challenge for the title, next week.

Eventually, next week also marks Logan Paul’s return to WWE television for the first time since Wrestlemania 39 when he was defeated by Seth Rollins in a high-octane matchup. At this point, next week’s match card for Raw stands as follows:

– WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Raquel Rodriguez

As WWE Universe anticipates Rollins and Logan to cross paths once again on next week’s Raw, the latter is also expected to get booked in a match at Money in the Bank since it’s going to be an international show.

The 2023 Money in the Bank Premium Live Event will take place at the O2 Arena in London, England. The current match card for the show coming out of this week’s Raw goes as follows,
