Builds for Money in the Bank 2024 premium live event commenced on the latest bygone episode of Monday Night Raw as the World Heavyweight Title Match was made official. Plus, a couple of superstars also advanced to the MITB ladder matches.
IYO SKY defeated Kiana James and Zelina Vega in a Triple Threat Match to qualify for the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match and become the first WWE Superstar to get into the fray.
Zelina Vega was in a commanding position in the match but Women's World Champion Liv Morgan came out wearing Dominik Mysterio's vest to distract Zelina during the match. This allowed IYO to deliver a moonsault on James for the pin-fall win.
In the main event of this week's Raw, Jey Uso defeated Finn Balor and Rey Mysterio in a Triple Threat Match to advance to the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Balor was in control in the finishing sequence of the bout.
The Judgment Day member hit the Coup De Grace finisher on Mysterio but Jey Uso quickly followed up with a top rope splash on Balor and then pinned him to advance to the Ladder Match to be contested for the prestigious contract.
On SmackDown, Kevin Owens will face Grayson Waller & WWE Speed Champion Andrade while Randy Orton will take on Carmelo Hayes & The Bloodline's Tama Tonga in two more Money in the Bank qualifying matches.
Two more qualifiers will also be there on next week's Raw as Braun Strowman will face Chad Gable & Bronson Reed on the men's side while in the women's qualifier, Lyra Valkyria will take on Shayna Baszler & Kairi Sane.
The 2024 Money in the Bank premium live event takes place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Saturday, July 7. The current match card for the PLE goes as follows:
