More names from NXT brand on WWE Network is likely to join main roster

New Delhi, Aug 28: We are used to witnessing the NXT Takeover events during the dual brand PPV weekends like Wrestlemania, Summerslam etc.

These events generally culminate some storylines in the developmental territory allowing names to get promoted to the main roster. They join either Raw or Smackdown brand to feature on the mainstay of the company.

This year’s Summerslam marked the same moment where we could expect some of the names to be swiped along. Bobby Roode was the first one to get into Smackdown. If the recent reports from sources to be believed then several more names are likely to follow the former NXT Champion, sooner.

Cagesideseats.com reported that Raw and Smackdown are ready to pick up some new names from the roster. The names of Authors of Pain, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Hideo Itami, Aleister Black and No Way Jose are considered to be on the list that might get swiped.

The former NXT Women’s Champion, Asuka was also supposed to be drafted to either of the two main brands. But, as we all know, she is currently suffering from a collarbone injury that forced her to relinquish the NXT Women’s title. Going forward, she might not be available for the next couple of months.

The source also reported that the creative will choose only those superstars who are not involved in some major storylines on NXT. Sending them to the main roster will open up fresh match-up possibilities. No hint was given as of which superstar is favorable to go which brand.

It is to be noted that both the Raw and Smackdown general managers, Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryan were in attendance at the NXT Takeover event to recruit newer talents. We expect to see some of the fresh faces as part of this process.

Earlier, it was also hinted that WWE might arrange another superstar shakeup following Summerslam. But, chances to witness the same is less. Rather, we expect to see superstars getting shifted to the main roster individually, whenever needed.
