NXT Battleground 2024: Title Matches and more announced for WWE PLE

More matches have been announced for the next WWE NXT premium live event for next month named Battleground. A Triple Threat Match was the latest to be confirmed during the latest episode of NXT for the North American Title.

Oba Femi will defend the mid-card title against both Wes Lee and Joe Coffey in this triple threat. A three-way contender's match took place on NXT where Coffey and Lee both pinned Josh Briggs leading to a draw.

As confusion prevailed, NXT General Manager Ava announced that both Lee and Coffey would get to compete for the title at Battleground. Originally, Ivar was scheduled to be in the contender's match but Coffey replaced him due to injury reasons.

NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez was also announced to be putting her title on the line at Battleground. The challenger's name will be announced on next week's episode of NXT. No update is there on whether that mystery name will be picked via a contender's match.

An NXT Underground match has also been announced between Shayna Baszler and Lola Vice on NXT following the main event, which saw Karmen Petrovic and Natalya defeat Baszler and Vice in a tag team match.

Following the bout, Vice turned on Baszler, who quickly recovered and put Vice in the Kirifuda Clutch submission hold. After the referees separated the duo, Ava made a match official for Battleground and also added the NXT Underground stipulation to it.

Fallon Henley and Jaida Parker have won their respective qualifying matches against Thea Hail and Brinley Reece on last night's NXT episode to advance to the six-pack ladder match at Battleground for the NXT Women's North American Title.

Parker and Henley have now joined Lash Legend and Sol Ruca who qualified on last week's show by winning their qualifiers. Two spots remain open, which will be filled next week via two final qualifying matches.

The 2024 NXT Battleground premium live event will be the first joint venture between WWE and UFC on June 9 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show beginning at 8 PM ET on Peacock/WWE Network has the following card:
