NXT No Mercy 2024: Ex-tag partners’ clash and title defenses set for WWE PLE

The never-before-seen heel version of Wes Lee was unleashed on NXT, last week and has now set up a match at the upcoming WWE premium live event, No Mercy against his former tag team partner.

Lee not only turned on his fellow Rascalz team members Zach Wentz and Trey Miguel, but he also demanded a match at No Mercy against the latter who's better known as Nash Carter of MSK tag team for the WWE Universe on this week's NXT.

In a fiery promo by the former North American Champion on the August 13 episode of WWE NXT, Lee referenced Wentz getting released by WWE (after his controversial photos were leaked on the internet) without mentioning it, directly.

The then-Nash Carter then signed to TNA Wrestling where he reunited with Miguel to re-form the mini version of Rascalz. In recent weeks, the two TNA stars went to NXT through the ongoing partnership between WWE and TNA to create a full-fledged reunion for Rascalz.

At present, Lee is also booked to take on Pete Dunne, and TNA's Joe Hendry in a triple threat match on next week's WWE NXT episode where the winner will challenge Ethan Page for the NXT Championship at No Mercy.

Also at the same PLE, the NXT Women's Championship will be on the line where the champion Roxanne Perez will defend against one of the up-and-coming female talents of WWE's third brand.

The challenger for this title match will be determined via a Gauntlet Match, next week on NXT with the participants being Jaida Parker, Karmen Petrovic, Wren Sinclair, Kendal Grey, Sol Ruca, and Adriana Rizzo.

In July, PWInsider revealed that the next NXT premium live event No Mercy is scheduled to go down on Sunday, September 1 in Denver, Colorado at the Ball Arena, which the WWE later confirmed.

NXT Champion Ethan Page, NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez, NXT North American Champion Oba Femi, NXT Women's North American Champion Kelani Jordan, Trick Williams, and Sol Ruca are the currently advertised names for the show.

No Mercy will be held just a day after WWE's Bash in Berlin premium live event from the main roster on August 31 in Berlin, Germany. After multiple years of hiatus, the ruthless aggression era PLE was brought back in 2023 in the September slot.
