Bengaluru, August 18: The next destination for WWE TV programme will be the Payback premium live event which is returning after a gap of three years. Scheduled for early September, no matches have been confirmed for the event, thus far.
In general, WWE would at least book the headliner match to keep the ticket-selling on the fast track which isn't the case for this upcoming PLE. But the hope is that the first match for the show will be announced on this week's SmackDown.

Speaking of booking, it's heavily rumoured that WWE will present a huge Triple Threat match at Payback 2023 pay-per-view. The news was first given by inside news breaker source BWE via its private Twitter handle.
No match was particularly mentioned for the Triple Threat which keeps the speculations on about the to-be-announced bout. From our point of view, it should be a three-way match at Payback over the WWE Women's Championship.
Back at SummerSlam, Asuka lost the title to Bianca Belair in another triple-threat match also featuring Charlotte Flair. Soon after the win, IYO SKY cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase to become the new champion.
Now since both Belair and Asuka deserve a championship rematch, Payback should witness IYO defending her newly won title against both these two former titleholders in a triple threat capacity in a practical scenario.
Also, WWFOldSchool hinted at another triple threat tag team match at Payback between the team of Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits, The Brawling Brutes, and The OC. This comes after recent altercations featuring these teams.
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have turned heel in recent times, making an ally with Lashley. They've attacked Brawling Brutes and OC to start beef with the SmackDown locker room, specifically with the tag team division.
Apart from the above-mentioned matches, Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the World Heavyweight Championship should be the main event of Payback 2023 as Rollins agreed to give Nakamura a title match at a place and timing of Nakamura's choice.
Also, Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus IV has been announced to happen inside a Steel Cage, and it will likely happen at Payback 2023 PLE that goes down on Saturday, September 2 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
