Reason behind Elimination Chamber and Fastlane multi-superstar main event

Bengaluru, Feb 22: The Wrestlemania season is here and will be hyped up even more with the last two brand-exclusive PPV events, ever. From the Raw brand, we will be having the Elimination Chamber PPV on this Sunday whereas, from Smackdown Live, Fastlane PPV will be hosted on March 11th.

Both of these events will be having main event matches with Wrestlemania implications. The prime championship matches will be decided by virtue of these. The similarity in these matches is that both of these will feature multiple prime superstars competing in their way to title hunt.

This year, the Elimination Chamber will have one extra participant in it containing seven superstars, in total. At Fastlane, there will five men competing in it for the WWE Championship. Previously, it was a triple threat match which was altered, later. There's a valid reason as of why the creative team is going for multi-superstar main event match.

As per reports from the reliable source, WrestleVotes Twitter-handle, the creative team wants to keep the fans in confusion about the upcoming title picture. So, there's no better way to do it but to add more superstars to these matches. This will keep the audience's interest in the contest.

According to the general thinking, the two prime title matches are almost set for Wrestlemania. From WWE Raw, Roman Reigns is the favourite one to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.

On the other hand, Shinsuke Nakamura has won the Royal Rumble match and challenged AJ Styles, on the spot to indicate the potential dream match at Wrestlemania. Hence, the creative team decided to take this strategy, (courtesy SportsKeeda.com)

“Wrestle Votes has revealed that the WWE is adding as many men as possible to their WWE and Universal Title main events at Elimination Chamber and Fastlane in an attempt to muddy the waters and in order to keep the WWE Universe guessing.”

Furthermore, the Fastlane main event was changed at the very last time. Previously, Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura were advertised in the fatal-5-way contest. But, later, Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin got added to it making thing more interesting. Nakamura had won the Royal Rumble already. Hence, there's no point to give him a separate chance.
