Reason behind WWE Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan's heel-turn

Bengaluru, February 4: The situation between the two authority figures on Smackdown Live is quite volatile, right now. A rift had begun around the time of Survivor Series which is going on, till now. The involvement of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn into this context has made things even more confusing.

Considering the recent ongoing, it might be evident, that anyone from the two authorities might be turning into a heel in the near future. The chances are quite high with Daniel Bryan, at this point especially the favoritism he is showing to the two best of friends from Canada. He is completely going to the opposite direction of the commissioner.

Plus, the announcement of the WWE Championship match at Royal Rumble indicated the same. The General Manager the one behind a 2-on-1 handicapped title match where AJ Styles had to defend against both Owens and Zayn. Now, this move was unexpected from a natural babyface like Daniel Bryan.

Probably based on this, Wrestling Observer Newsletter supported the fact that the leader of the YES movement is converting into a villainous gimmick, sooner. This move by the creative team might be influenced by the real-life fact that WWE never cleared Bryan to wrestle in the WWE following the series of injuries.

Two motives can be assumed, right now behind this turn. The first one is quite clear that Vince McMahon will move from his position to let Bryan make the come back to the squared circle, finally. However, till date, no such confirmation of his clearance has been received.

The other one is quite interesting where WWE will let Bryan go out of the company once the contract expires but not with his heroic image. Check out the updates from SportsKeeda.com,

“Vince, being the shrewd man he is, doesn't want any other promotion to take advantage of Bryan's massive popularity. He wants to turn him heel so that he loses the steam in case Bryan leaves the company.”

It is evident that if the company does not allow Daniel Bryan to wrestle, he will quit in the future once the deal runs down. So, it will be interesting to see whether WWE chooses to let the most natural babyface superstar of this generation go away from their wings.
