Reason why Jinder Mahal won the WWE Championship match at Summerslam

New Delhi, Aug 26: Smackdown hosted the main event from their side at this year’s Summerslam as Jinder Mahal defended the WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura.

This was a bigger occasion for the Indian fans considering an Indian featured in a WWE Championship match in a global event like Summerslam.

The event turned out to be even more joyful for the fans of sub continent considering that Jinder retained the title by winning the match. In addition, the match did not witness any disqualification outcome and rather, the champion pinned Nakamura clean.

Earlier, it was thought that we would crown a new champion in the form of the Artist at the biggest PPV of the summer. Several reports suggested that this will be the final night that we will witness Jinder holding the WWE title. However, the WWE creative had something different in mind.

According to the reports of The Dirty Sheets Podcast, they always claimed that no title change is expected at Summerslam. This was due to the reason that the feud between the champion and the challenger never heated up enough. Hence, the title change will not be an adjacent decision to the match.

Plus, the officials also wanted to stretch the feud till the next PPV for Smackdown which is Hell in a Cell in October. Apparently, these two are supposed to build up a strong rivalry till that event comes up. This will result in a bigger match inside the structure for the WWE Championship.

Also, Nakamura is still not ready to pick up the championship on his shoulder, according to the backstage news. With this rivalry ongoing, he will definitely be able to gain some momentum in his favor and then only the most coveted title in the history of sports entertainment will suit The King of Strong Styles.

Jinder continuing the championship still keeps the chances open of WWE arranging an India tour before he loses the title. Till date, we have not received any update on that. So, we have to wait for further confirmations.
