Revealed: Alexa Bliss to win the Women’s Championship on Raw

Bengaluru, August 27: This year's Summerslam has been exceptional that witnessed a series of championship changes on the night. Five titles changed hands in combined which was quite a surprise. Alexa Bliss also lost the Raw Women's Championship at the hands of Sasha Banks on the night.

Now, the former champion has a rematch clause and decided to invoke it. So, on next edition of Raw, we will witness yet another championship match. The speculations are running rampant whether Sasha will be able to retain the title, or not.

This is quite an interesting rumour since The Boss has never defended her title successfully in the last three occasions, her title reign came to an abrupt end as she lost in all of her rematches. However, Alexa Bliss is running the women's division at present and hence there are chances that WWE creative team might decide to give the crown back to her.

The situation was discussed on an episode of Wrestling Observer Radio by Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer. They agreed on the fact that considering that Bliss is the favorite of the officials as well as the fans, she could win the title on Raw.

Check out the comments from Alvarez,

“[she] could, I think it depends on Bayley’s recovery timetable and if she’s gonna be back and if that’s the direction they’re going. Otherwise, she could win it back because they’ve done a lot of that as of late.”

Meltzer added that in recent times, WWE has decided to switch the titles and give it right back in quick time. We witnessed the same for the Smackdown tag team and the Cruiserweight titles, as well. This steals the spotlight from the audience. So, we should not be surprised to see another title change.

Here is further notation on the matter by the source,

“I just think that they want Alexa Bliss to be the champion. And right now I think — right now they’re in the mode of doing lots of title changes figuring that lends attention and maybe it’s the right move.

Cause you know WWE’s doing so many things like they’ve switched a lot of titles in the last few weeks and a lot of cases like it happened with The New Day and Tozawa, they switch the titles and then they switch them right back.”

Plus, the Brooklyn crowd was not happy to witness the new champion. Hence, Sasha was booed to a certain extent just like Bayley after she was injured. This might also work as a negative factor for her. Bliss is definitely the favorite one walking into the said match.
