Revealed: Stephanie McMahon’s role at WWE Royal Rumble 2018

Bengaluru, Jan 26: This year's Royal Rumble PPV is being promoted as 'more rumble than ever'. There's a specific reason for it. For the first time ever, we would see not one but two battle royal matches. Apart from the original men's division matchup, there will be a first-ever all-women Royal Rumble match, as well.

The announcement was made by none other than Stephanie McMahon on the December 18th episode of Monday Night Raw. This will always be considered as a historic occasion for the female division of the WWE where the course to the main event of Wrestlemania began. Also, the company chose none other than the Raw commissioner to let it know to the world.

This was a good choice considering Stephanie McMahon was the one who officially started the Divas Revolution back in 2015. Going forward, she has been a brand ambassador for the women empowerment being a female business entrepreneur that converted the movement into today's Women's Evolution.

Once the announcement regarding women's Royal Rumble match was made, the fans started to wonder whether she would be a surprise entry to the match or not. As per her social media handles, she is a fitness freak who always gets ready for in-ring competition. So, she would not back down making her presence felt.

However, WWE has chosen her for a brand new role on the January 28th evening. It was first revealed on Stephanie's Twitter handle that she will be present on the commentary table for this historic match. It means that alongside the Raw and Smackdown commentary team, she will be calling down the actions. Later, WWE confirmed her ringside presence on the official website.

It will be interesting to see whether the Billion Dollar Princess make her presence felt during this match playing favouritism to anybody specific letting her win the Royal Rumble match. Meanwhile, 18 names have been confirmed to enter the match with 12 spots being left. These are the already announced names,

"Naomi, Asuka, Ruby Riott, Natalya, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Carmella, Tamina, Lana, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Mickie James, Nia Jax, Becky Lynch, Alicia Fox, and Dana Brooke."
