Rivalry to Superstar of the Year - List of WWE Slammy Award 2020 winners

Bengaluru, Dec 24: The annual tradition of Slammy Awards returned last night after a gap of five years recognising the very bests of WWE programming in 2020. A kick-off show was attached to the original event hosted by the WWE 24/7 Champion R-Truth. The ceremony featured several WWE Legends, Hall of Famers, and mainstream celebrities as presenters of the awards

As for the highlights of the WWE Network special, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre was named the Superstar of the Year, while SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Street Profits won Tag Team of the Year. The King of Claymore Country also won the Slammy for Male Superstar of the Year, while SmackDown Women's Champion Sasha Banks won the Slammy for Female Superstar of the Year.

Breakout Star of the Year Award was also secured by The Street Profits - Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins but they have lost their Slammys indicating a new rivalry. Return of the Year Award went to WWE Hall of Famer Edge for his miraculous comeback at Royal Rumble 2020.

The Undertaker bagged three Slammy Awards in separate categories - WWE Network Documentary of the Year for The Last Ride, Moment of the Year for his Final Farewell at Survivor Series 2020, and Match of the Year for the Boneyard Match win against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36 that also marked the final match of his career.

The Hurt Business and Lacey Evans co-owned for Trashtalker of the Year Award while Referee of the Year went to Charles Robinson, the self-proclaimed die-hard fan of legendary Ric Flair. Celebrity Appearance of the Year went to former WWE 24/7 Champion and NFL legend Rob Gronkowski who was used as the WrestleMania 36 host.
