Roman Reigns currently resides on SmackDown as a top draw for the company on Friday Nights on the USA Network. But with WWE’s big move coming in 2025 over Netflix, the marquee superstar’s status will reportedly receive a massive change.
The Tribal Chief has mostly dominated Friday Night SmackDown for years but in WWE’s changing circumstances, he could be Raw-bound from early next year when WWE programming will be available on the largest OTT platform in the world.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Backstage Pass Patreon, Roman Reigns will be presented as a cornerstone figure after WWE shifts to Netflix so that Monday Night Raw could be built as a must-watch program outside cable TV. Joey Votes reported, “We are told the plans as of now, we’ll see Roman Reigns featured on Monday Night Raw and Netflix more so than SmackDown for at least the beginning part of the calendar year.”
While there’s no confirmation of an official roster move from SmackDown to Raw, WWE has a strategy to showcase Reigns on the red brand through major events like the Royal Rumble and the Road to WrestleMania 41 season. It was further added that Netflix is aware of what Roman Reigns brings to the table in terms of viewership and credibility on WWE TV programming and they have specific demands regarding his presence on Monday nights.
If the earlier reports are any indications then Netflix also wants the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes from SmackDown to be onboard. Besides, CM Punk is featured in the middle of the promotional materials despite his current absence.
Last night, Netflix dropped their first 30-second video clip on social media to promote Raw’s debut on their platform which will begin on Monday, January 6th from Los Angeles, California’s new Intuit Dome. While domestic viewers in the US would catch up with Raw on Mondays, Netflix UK, and Ireland could be able to watch Raw, SmackDown, NXT, PLEs, and “select programming & historic PLEs” from the archive.
