As his hiatus continues through the post-Wrestlemania 40 season, the expectation for the WWE Universe was to get Roman Reigns back on TV in time for SummerSlam set for early August but that appearance could be in jeopardy.
For a long time, the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion has been advertised for the go-home SmackDown before SummerSlam 2024 scheduled from the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio which basically confirmed his presence at the PLE.

However, things could be changed around Roman Reigns' return as the venue released a new promotional for the upcoming show and the top star has been removed from the poster for the August 2 SmackDown.
A new set of superstars has been advertised for the show and those are Cody Rhodes, Bayley, Randy Orton, LA Knight, Jade Cargill, and Bianca Belair. There's no update on whether this means Reigns' hiatus has already been extended.
Roman Reigns was last seen in the main event match of WrestleMania XL Night Two against Cody Rhodes under The Bloodline rules with legends like The Rock, John Cena, and The Undertaker appearing to make it one of the most iconic affairs of all time.
The chaotic encounter ultimately made way for Rhodes to win the most prestigious prize in sports entertainment, the WWE Championship by pinning The Tribal Chief and thereby ending the latter's historic run with the title after 1316 days.
The ex-champion then entered the hiatus which was supposed to end during the summer so that he could participate in SummerSlam. At one point, rumours were also there that he might work in the Saudi Arabia PLE but that wasn't the case.
In Roman Reigns' absence, The Bloodline is being led by Solo Sikoa who also recruited Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa under his wings to revamp things. Speculations have that this might set up a match between Reigns and Sikoa, down the road.
