Royal Rumble 2024: Brock Lesnar’s status revealed ahead of WWE PLE

Royal Rumble will be the first big premium live event to be presented by the WWE in 2024 and things for the show are gradually shaping up. Given the large-scale and unprecedented event that it is, surprise returns are expected to the fullest.

This brings Brock Lesnar into the conversation who has been absent from WWE TV for almost the past five months. Being the biggest box office attraction that the WWE has to offer, fans do anticipate his presence at the first Big-Four PLE of the year.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shed light on the current status of Brock Lesnar ahead of Royal Rumble. It seems that he is slated to be back on TV before the PLE, meaning that he won't be a surprise attendee.

It was also noted by the source that bringing him back on the latest bygone episode of Raw was a bad idea since there are competitions from football games and the Emmy Awards that tanked the show ratings, anyway.

"Maybe next week. I would think this would not be the week to have Brock Lesnar return, given this might be one of the lower rated shows considering they went against the football games and the Emmy Awards."

As mentioned above, WWE probably has him booked for next week's Raw if not for the Rumble itself. If that's the case then an angle will also be shot at the PLE that will set things up for a match featuring him at Wrestlemania 40.

Previous reports have claimed that Brock Lesnar's return has already been in place. A WrestleMania 40 poster featuring him was also spotted on a WWE production truck suggesting that he is in the creative plans offered by the WWE.

With Royal Rumble looming in on January 27th, perhaps it's just a matter of time before The Beast Incarnate resurfaces on TV and sets his sights on a new opponent to dance with at the Biggest Event of the Year.
