Bengaluru, Dec 18: There are plenty of speculations ongoing with John Cena's role once he returns to WWE TV after the long hiatus.
He is scheduled to return to a WWE House show in the holiday weekend on December 26th in Madison Square Garden. He'll also show up on Smackdown, the same week.
Now, a recent report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that Cena will be back in the main event picture after he returns.
He will be replacing Dean Ambrose to start a feud against AJ Styles for the WWE World championship.
As per the storyline, he will be hunting down his 16th WWE World heavyweight title to tie the record of the Nature Boy, Ric Flair.
Dean Ambrose, on the other hand, will be indulged in a feud with James Ellsworth or the Miz to challenge for the Intercontinental title.
If this happens then it will be the same storyline like Dolph Ziggler. She went straight to the World title picture to the IC title picture after the Summerslam PPV.
However, there are some serious concerns regarding Cena's WWE career for 2017. Variety.com reported that Cena is all set to feature in different movie projects which mean he will continue playing the part-time role in WWE. He will be seen Kay Cannon's first directorial venture, The Pact.
Apart from that, he is rumored to grab a role in the next Thor franchise, Thor: Ragnarok. So, with these projects already in hand, he is said to be in another hiatus even before his return.
We have reported earlier that there are some serious concerns around WWE with the franchise player's career.
Before going to filming the second season of American grit, Cena was seen in a World championship triple threat main event match at No Mercy PPV.
This was after a long time that he was back into the title picture. We have to see whether he'll be given the opportunity, again.
Also, we have to see if his anticipated match with the Undertaker takes place at Wrestlemania or not.
