Rumour: WWE to change United States title match on Smackdown Live

Bengaluru, March 4: The United States Championship picture has been made quite interesting over the last few weeks. After Bobby Roode won the title before the Royal Rumble PPV, he vowed to be a fighting champion. So, he defended it successfully on a regular basis against Mojo Rawley and Rusev. Recently, two more superstars were added to the mix.
Randy Orton is the first one who inserted himself by demanding the United States Championship for the very first time in his career. The Viper delivered an RKO to Roode and thus made a bold statement. Jinder Mahal is the other one to do the same as he put down the champion with his finisher, the Khallas.
This left the Smackdown authorities with split opinions as to who should get the title opportunity. Shane McMahon rooted for the Apex Predator of the WWE and awarded him with an opportunity. Hence, the United States title has been made official at the Fastlane PPV on March 11th. But, the match is not likely to stay that way.
According to a recent report from cagesideseats.com, this is going to be a triple threat contest with Jinder Mahal added to the title match making it even a bigger affair. Most likely, the announcement is coming up in this upcoming edition of Smackdown Live.
It will be Daniel Bryan who will give the Modern-day Maharaja, this opportunity. He was the one to support the heel superstar but could not make his decision official due to Shane McMahon's opposition. He might forcefully alter the match to continue his feud against the Smackdown commissioner which has been happening for almost four months now.
Plus, it's quite evident that Jinder Mahal should get this opportunity if you consider the storyline perspective. He is in the US title angle for the past few weeks and he has also stood tall against the champion, on multiple occasions. This is a creative idea so that he can get the opportunity and he certainly will.
Ever since he lost the WWE Championship, a compact storyline was needed for Jinder to maintain his dominant status. This angle seems perfect to keep him in the title hunt. The speculations do suggest that he will become the next US Champion which might happen either at Fastlane or even at the biggest event of the year, Wrestlemania 34.
