Spoiler on Roman Reigns’ next opponent for Undisputed WWE Universal Title

Bengaluru, May 1: In the main event of WrestleMania Hollywood Night Two on April 2, Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes to retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and expectedly headed into a hiatus to continue with his part-time schedule.

The Tribal Chief will miss Backlash premium live event despite it being an international event. His next title defense should be happening at the returning Night of Champions event in Saudi Arabia on May 27th.

There are rumours of WWE renaming the Saudi show from King & Queen of the Ring to Night of Champions since on that night the reigning title-holder will complete 1,000 days as the champion.

A special celebration is expected for Roman Reigns at the upcoming Saudi Arabia PLE on this occasion. When it comes to his next title defense, it seems like a returning former WWE Champion will be introduced as his next opponent for that night.

According to Xero News, Roman Reigns is scheduled to collide against AJ Styles, next with his title on the line. Styles, alongside The O.C. members (Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson & "Michin" Mia Yim), were drafted to SmackDown.

The Phenomenal One also returned on the 2023 Draft Night One from his ankle injury, this past Friday night on the show from Corpus Christi, Texas. The O.C. took out The Viking Raiders to make a major statement on that night.

If the whole Bloodline faction remains on Smackdown then they could be involved in a feud with The O.C., as well. Reigns vs. Styles last occurred in a non-televised WWE Live Event in 2022, where Reigns defeated Styles.

On TV, WWE Universe witnessed this feud, seven years ago shortly after WrestleMania 32 in 2016. At Payback and Extreme Rules PPV of that year, Reigns defeated Styles to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

In more spoilers from the title picture, WWE fans may not hope AJ Styles to dethrone Roman Reigns from his reign. Apparently, WWE Creative Team has plans to make this reign a historic one and there's no way that it's coming to an end, shortly.

Andrew Zarian of the Wrestling Observer responded to Jim Valley's tweet regarding the undisputed champion possibly surpassing Hulk Hogan's 1,474-day title reign now that WWE has introduced the new World Heavyweight Championship.

Unveiling a new title was an expected way to facilitate Reigns to hold on to the title, longer than expected so that WWE's will to rewrite the history books can be updated.

"I have been told numerous times that WWE wants to update its history books and needs longer title reigns," Zarian stated that he has been informed the same via his sources on multiple occasions.

There's no update on Roman Reigns' comeback on WWE TV. But it should happen after Backlash PLE on May 6 to help WWE in building up the Night of Champions PLE set from Saudi Arabia on May 27.
