Stone Cold Steve Austin returned to the WWE ring for a one-off occasion at WrestleMania 38 on the Night One headliner segment. In his home state of Texas, Kevin Owens was pummeled in a no-DQ encounter at the hands of the former WWE Champion.
With Austin still keeping himself in the best shape of his career, the notion of him coming back to in-ring competition for some more matches is still open especially since he's willing to do it if WWE provides a compact storyline.

On that note, Stone Cold sat down in a recent interview with Marc Raimondi of ESPN and acknowledged that he reviewed his comeback match at WrestleMania 38 and identified spots where he could have enhanced his performance.
At first, Austin hinted at not coming back to wrestling capacity, anytime soon and rather advised the fans not to anticipate seeing him in his wrestling gear. But then the essential "never say never" phrase was eventually uttered by him.
"At the age of 57, I headlined the first night of WrestleMania. I never thought I'd do that. If you'd have told me that when I retired in [2003], I'd have said, 'You're crazy.' So I'm not gonna sit here and say no to anything because you never say never."
The Texas Rattlesnake then emphasized the fact that he fell in love back with wrestling during the triumphant return to the WWE for that match at WrestleMania 38. That being said, expectation is still there of a repeat performance.
"You get a dose of it, and you want more. Here I am talking to you a couple years later about doing it again, that's how addicting it is to me, just to talk about it. I get excited, and I'll start talking too fast."
As the conversation progressed, Stone Cold also touched down on the topic of setting up the dream match against CM Punk now that the latter has returned to the WWE on a full-time basis.
He never ruled out the idea that must be keeping the global professional wrestling fanbase on their toes with this fantasy warfare someday turning into a reality. But the match is definitely not on the card of WrestleMania 40.
