SummerSlam 2023: Rumour on major championship change at WWE PLE

Bengaluru, June 6: Seth Rollins is currently enjoying the inaugural WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign on Monday Night Raw but his title run could be limited as speculations suggest he's dropping the belt in a dramatic way at SummerSlam 2023.

At the 2023 Night of Champions premium live event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Rollins defeated AJ Styles in the finale of a tournament to win the newly introduced World Heavyweight Championship in the WWE which is being touted as the workhorse belt with a workhorse champion.

The title will be defended at any time and any place, unlike Roman Reigns' Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. This is the reason chances are high that the winner of the upcoming Money in the Bank ladder match will also cash in on the world title.

The 2023 Money in the Bank event will take place at The O2 Arena in London, England on July 1st. Multiple sources have confirmed that SmackDown Superstar LA Knight is the current favorite to win the Men's Money In The Bank ladder match.

In an update to the speculation, Xero News has reported on Twitter that Knight is indeed scheduled to win that match. Thereafter, he would cash in on Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2023, and win the World Heavyweight Championship.

Knight is one of the most promising superstars on the WWE main roster who was called from NXT, last year. It seems like WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H is heavy on the 40-year-old wrestler.

As a result, Knight could pull off the biggest win of his career at SummerSlam 2023. For the time being, he's qualified for the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match by defeating Montez Ford of The Street Profits this past Friday on SmackDown.

As for Seth Rollins, he defeated Damian Priest to retain the World Heavyweight Championship during last night's episode of Raw. It marked his first televised title defense since winning the belt at Night of Champions.

Finn Balor confronted Rollins after the match which indicated that Rollins vs. Balor will be the next feud over the World Title. Given that Balor is from United Kingdom territory, he's likely to get a world title shot at Money in the Bank.

As for 2023 SummerSlam, the biggest event of the summer is headed to Detroit, Michigan on Saturday, August 5 from the Ford Field Stadium. No matches or superstars have officially been announced for the premium live event.
