Superstar Spectacle 2023: New match revealed for WWE India show featuring current champion

In a week, WWE will host their next show in India after a gap of almost six years by the name of Superstar Spectacle. They’re going all out to garner attention from the subcontinent fans by presenting a stacked card.

The former franchise player of the WWE John Cena will be returning to India for this show and he will also be seen in action for the first time in India in a tag team match with the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Superstar Spectacle.

Now, the current WWE Women’s World Champion has also been booked to compete on the show. While WWE hasn’t officially announced the match, it was a top Superstar from Monday Night Raw who revealed the match.

While talking to WWE NIL signees The Cavinder Twins (Haley Cavinder & Hanna Cavinder) on their Twin Talk podcast, WWE Veteran Natalya noted that she’s set to face Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley in India.

It wasn’t essentially confirmed whether this match will take place over the Women’s World Title. Earlier this year, following WrestleMania 39 season, Natalya did get shots at Ripley’s title but she failed to earn it on two separate occasions.

Meanwhile, Rhea Ripley will have to first retain the women’s world title at this weekend’s Payback pay-per-view. In her most formidable defence, to date, she will be going up against another behemoth of the Raw roster, Raquel Rodriguez.

Rhea Ripley vs. Natalya appears to be the third overall match on the card for Superstar Spectacle in India. The currently set card following the announcement from The Queen of Harts goes as follows,

– John Cena & World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. Imperium (Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci)

– Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn (c) vs. Indus Sher (Veer Mahaan & Sanga) (with Jinder Mahal)

– Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley vs. Natalya

The second-ever Superstar Spectacle edition will take place at the G.M.C Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, Telangana, India on Friday, September 8. Going by the poster of the event, Becky Lynch is another top female superstar to be visiting the country.

However, Big Time Becks is also yet to be booked in any match on the show. For the time being, she is set to wrap up her ongoing feud with Trish Stratus at Payback, this Sunday inside a Steel Cage Match.
