The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes: Update on much-anticipated match in WWE

Ever since The Rock has returned to the WWE, the supposed dream match for him was to be against Roman Reigns. But in the always-changing world of pro-wrestling now the dream feud has converted into The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes.

The Great One found his way back to the WWE on the Day 1 episode of Monday Night Raw and shortly after, got engaged into one of the most compelling narratives in the company also featuring Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.

Throughout the Wrestlemania 40 season, the drama unfolded but following Cody Rhodes' triumphant win over Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, things have now escalated as The Rock identified him as his next solo target.

The American Nightmare kicked off the 4/8 episode of Raw with a celebration in front of the WWE Universe with the WWE Title. However, The Rock didn't take a long time to interrupt to congratulate him and declare a temporary hiatus.

But it was also noted by him that he would eventually return to settle his score with Rhodes once and for all. This genuinely signals that the rivalry will further continue on WWE programming to produce a singles contest.

Recently the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has shed light on the potential timeline for their anticipated clash between the two star powers and revealed that The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes match is slated to take place no sooner than WrestleMania 41.

A delay in the culmination of the match would allow the WWE to intensify things between the two powerhouse performers. But at the same time, Roman Reigns vs. The Rock will continue to get pushed back for one more year.

For the time being, The Rock will be in a hiatus from WWE as he would be busy with his Hollywood commitments through this summer while Cody Rhodes is expected to carry the flag of the company with regular appearances on Raw and SmackDown.
