The Undertaker’s WWE in-ring return still a possibility as The American Badass?

Bengaluru, April 24: It's been over three years that The Undertaker has not wrestled in a match on WWE TV. Since announcing his retirement at Survivor Series, the idea of seeing perhaps the Greatest Sports Entertainer of All-Time had almost been wiped out until recent times.

A reliable outlet, Ringside News has asked around their sources in WWE creative for a while about whether there's any idea being nurtured for The Undertaker's return to action and interestingly, they've returned with a not-so-fully negative update.

RSN affirmed that the ongoing idea may not "100% thrill fans" after a tenured member of the WWE creative team noted that no creative plans were ever made to bring back The Undertaker to wrestling capacity after his Boneyard Match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36.

However, it was also noted by RSN that The American Badass gimmick of the legendary performer could have been reincarnated for a reason on Raw in January and it did give hints at returning for a possible retirement match.

For those who don't remember, the charismatic persona showed up to whisper a secret message into Bray Wyatt's ear at Raw 30 which was a bone-chilling segment to many. However, nothing follow-up did come out of that interaction.

The source ended their report by stating that no creative plans are available regarding Mark Calaway's legendary on-screen persona. But you can't certainly rule out anything given how he used the iconic "never say never" phrase to wrap up his Hall of Fame speech.

After putting his body through tons of tests throughout three decades, The Undertaker last competed in the above-mentioned Boneyard Match. It was barely a wrestling match in front of a packed audience but rather a pre-taped cinematic match in an empty field.

Even when he announced his retirement, it went down inside WWE ThunderDome in front of a virtual audience. This is the key notion that makes the fans believe The Phenom's comeback for one last match.

We have to wait and learn whether or not it becomes a reality at some point but The Undertaker himself is said to have nothing left in his body to produce the same magic from his heyday.

Appearing on the "Hawk vs. Wolf" podcast, The Deadman recently reflected on the possibility of dancing in the ring, once more, as the fans want to see it regardless of his physical condition. But the 57-year-old admittedly doesn't anymore possess that physical ability.

"Without any hesitation at all, if I felt like I could go and deliver, and deliver a performance that people expect when they see my name on the card, I would do it, but I know I can't."
