Three championship matches confirmed on Smackdown for WWE Fastlane

Bengaluru, Feb 21: The WWE Championship match was the only confirmed contest for the 2018 edition of the WWE Fastlane PPV. It will be a fatal-5-way affair with AJ Styles defending against Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin.
Last night, the fate of the other three titles present on the brand was also decided in a number of segments.
Jinder Mahal cut a promo on the United States title picture before getting interrupted by the champion, himself. Randy Orton also joined them inside the ring creating a chaotic affair. A heated confrontation took place which ended with Mahal gaining the upper-hand.
This led Daniel Bryan to declare his intentions of booking a match between Roode and Mahal for the US title. But, Shane McMahon was not willing to sanction this one. Rather, he decided to book Randy Orton vs. Bobby Roode for the US Championship. The GM was not happy about this but agreed to the words of The Boss.
Later, WWE.com confirmed that this match is now official for the Fastlane PPV,
“Randy Orton is poised to unleash a serpentine takeover when he attempts to dethrone United States Champion Bobby Roode at WWE Fastlane. Will The Viper sink his fangs into the U.S. Title at WWE Fastlane? Find out when the SmackDown pay-per-view streams live, Sunday, March 11, at 8 ET/5 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.”

In another match on Smackdown Live, The New Day defeated Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin in a tag team contest. This was a match to determine the number one contender’s spot and hence they earned the opportunity to challenge The Usos in a title match, again. So, this match is official for the Smackdown tag titles at Fastlane.

Also, the Riott Squad picked up the win against Charlotte Flair which did not make the title-holder, happy, at all. So, after going backstage, the Queen intended to take on the leader of the group at Fastlane. She agreed with the clause that the championship will be on the line.
Charlotte agreed to it and hence the match was made, official, too, for Fastlane, on the official website,
“Charlotte Flair’s pursuit for payback on The Riott Squad will culminate in a bitter showdown against Ruby Riott with the SmackDown Women’s Title on the line at WWE Fastlane. With this heated rivalry reaching its boiling point, see what happens when Charlotte Flair’s title showdown against Ruby Riott streams live, Sunday, March 11, at 8 ET/5 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.”
