Bengaluru, February 17: WWE star Triple H now heads the Cruiserweight division of the company and the 205 Live programming, replacing Vince McMahon.

The Cruiserweights received their own show in the form of the 205 Live in the summer of 2016 to provide lightning-fast actions on the WWE TV programming. Each week on Tuesday nights, the superstars from this division got to showcase their talents on this WWE Network-exclusive show.

The officials put an effort to elevate the status of the show. However, it did not turn out to be as successful as the Cruiserweight Classic that was hosted in 2016. Vince McMahon took care of the show from the very beginning but failed to make the desired impact.

Frustrated with the progress, McMahon considered terminating the show. Furthermore, what transpired with the former reigning champion, Enzo Amore, disgusted McMahon. Amore was involved in a rape case after which The Boss fired him during the WWE Raw's 25th anniversary episode.

While officials have managed to convince him to keep the show on WWE programming, McMahon is no longer in charge of it anymore.

According to the reports of SportsKeeda.com, Triple H is the new show-runner for the format reserved for the lightweights. Starting from now, the Chairman of the board will be completely disassociated. The format of the show is expected to change in the coming days.

Many other changes are expected considering Triple H's way of running things are completely different from that of his father-in-law. Vince used to focus on a person-oriented 205 Live show, whereas The Game likes his stars to showcase their talents inside the ring.

Check out more updates from the source: “McMahon believed that making 205 Live a character-driven show was the right approach, hence why Enzo Amore was given the Cruiserweight Championship."

Even though Enzo Amore did get more eyes on the show before he was fired, there were some who argued that 205 Live should have more of a CWC feel as doing a character-based show similar to Raw or SmackDown wasn’t showcasing the 205 Live stars in the right light.”

The first thing, while giving a makeover to the show, was to appoint a new General Manager - Drake Maverick. A long tournament was also announced which will crown a new Cruiserweight Champion at Wrestlemania. This indicates Triple H is willing to revamp the brand like he did with NXT before.
