Bengaluru, March 7: WWE Fastlane would be the final pay-per-view for Smackdown Live before Wrestlemania. Until now, all the championship matches were made official for this Sunday's show.

On this week’s Smackdown, two more non-title matches were added to the card of the event which is slated to happen at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

The Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura didn't have a scheduled match on this PPV show, till last night's Smackdown. But, WWE couldn't afford to keep a superstar of his caliber, out of the show especially after he has won the Rumble match. This will help him to keep the momentums going in his favor.

As seen on last night’ show, Nakamura was being interviewed by Dasha Fuentes where he was concernede that the dream match against AJ Styles might not happen at Wrestlemania 34. And during the interview, Rusev and Aiden English walked in to challenge The Artist for a match at WWE Fastlane.

The babyface superstar accepted the challenge from Rusev to set up the match, which was later confirmed by WWE.com who made this match official for the Fastlane PPV,

“The Bulgarian Brute will look to wipe the canvas with The Artist, as Rusev battles Shinsuke Nakamura at WWE Fastlane. Will he succeed? Or will The Artist be celebrating Nakamura Day at the end of the knockdown, drag-out fight? Find out at WWE Fastlane, this Sunday at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network.”

This was not the only match announced for the brand-exclusive PPV event. After a backstage confrontation between Natalya and Naomi, who was seen celebrating Becky Lynch’s win against Carmella on Smackdown.
