Update from AEW Owen Hart Foundation 2024 Tournament after July 3 Dynamite

With just a week remaining for the finale of the 2024 AEW Owen Hart Foundation Tournament that will be held at the Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, three stars from the men’s and women’s divisions advanced on this week’s Dynamite.

Willow Nightingale, Bryan Danielson, and the returning Adam “Hangman” Page have won their respective scheduled matches on Dynamite to advance. Danielson was the first one to reach the final from the men’s side.

The veteran defeated PAC in his qualifier after exchanging pinfall attempts until Danielson suddenly secured a three-count. Later on the night, Hangman Page returned after several months and defeated Jeff Jarrett to advance to the semifinals after hitting the deadeye finisher.

With that, Page will next face Jay White this Saturday on Collision in the semifinal. The winner of that match will face Danielson in the finals. The Men’s Owen Hart Cup winner will secure a future world championship opportunity.

From the women’s side, Willow Nightingale advanced to the finals of the tournament after defeating former friend Kris Statlander. The finish came when Stokely Hathaway offered a steel chain and distracted the referee.

Statlander attempted to use the chain on her current rival but she almost accidentally hit Hathaway. Nightingale rolled her up from behind for the win and now she will face the winner of Hikaru Shida and Mariah May.

May won her quarterfinal match against Saraya at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Zero Hour show to get to the semifinals, while Shida defeated Deonna Purrazzo on last week’s Collision in another quarterfinal bout to set up this semifinal match.

May vs. Shida is scheduled for this week’s AEW Rampage Beach Break edition with the winner moving on to face Nightingale, next week. Currently, the July 5 episode of Rampage show has the following card,

- Owen Hart Foundation women’s tournament semifinal: Mariah May vs. Hikaru Shida

- Rush vs. Komander

- Kyle O’Reilly vs. GPA

- The Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher) vs. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen)
