Update on Rhea Ripley’s injury situation and possible extended hiatus from WWE

As seen on the latest episode of WWE Raw, Rhea Ripley was forced to vacate the Women's World Championship due to injury reasons. It came as a shocker for the fans as she was running things on the red-brand female roster with an iron fist.

The former champion herself mentioned that it was Liv Morgan's attack that caused the injury and it isn't a kayfabe aspect. The injury was legit picked up by MAMI of Judgment Day after Morgan jumped her from behind.

An update from PWInsider suggests that Ripley sustained the injury when Morgan propelled her into a wall on the post-WrestleMania 40 episode of Raw, resulting in damage to the AC joint connecting her collarbone and right shoulder.

It was further noted that the chair shot delivered to the head during the altercation between Morgan and Ripley did not contribute to the injury but it was a complete mishap and incidental occurrence.

The exact duration of Rhea Ripley's recovery remains uncertain and depends on factors such as the necessity of surgery and the extent of physical therapy. The initially intended six-week hiatus could be extended to six months.

Regarding the individual behind Rhea Ripley's unfortunate situation, Liv Morgan, there are rumours about her facing backstage heat which isn't true, per a Fightful Select report. Rather, it's being seen as an accident.

No animosity is directed towards the former SmackDown Women's Champion as stated via the below comments, "As mentioned, there's no heat on Liv Morgan for the Rhea Ripley injury. It happened when she went into the wall last week."

Liv Morgan featured in a backstage promo claiming that the Women's World Championship is coming to her and she remains the favorite to pick up the title when WWE crowns a new champion on the April 22 episode of the show.

Meanwhile, Rhea Ripley was super impressive as the maiden Women's World Champion whose reign lasted for 380 days. The reign began at WrestleMania 39, with the final match of her reign taking place at WrestleMania 40, where she defeated Becky Lynch to retain.
