Bengaluru, August 9: An injury scare broke out around the top-most attraction of the WWE, Roman Reigns following WWE SummerSlam. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion was indeed injured in that match but that might not affect ongoing storylines around him.
The Tribal Combat between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso appeared to be a violent affair that culminated in SummerSlam main event. Jimmy Uso made a surprise return to betray Jey and cost his twin brother the ultimate title match win of his career.

The victory allowed Roman Reigns to make it through day 1,070 of his historic title reign as the Universal Champion, the longest title reign in WWE history in the modern era and since the first WrestleMania.
Following this title win, Roman Reigns did not appear at the post-show press conference and he was represented by his Special Counsel, "The Wiseman" Paul Heyman who put over Reigns' greatness with some great promos.
However, this also started speculations about the champion's well-being. On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer finally disclosed that Roman Reigns injured himself just minutes after The Tribal Combat began at SummerSlam.
Being WWE's trusted shoulder and bonafide main-eventer, The Head of the Table never allowed anybody to understand it but rather finished the contest with that injury. Reports also suggested that WWE's long-term plans won't be hurt due to this.
"I don't know the nature of the injury, I just heard he worked the match hurt. He got hurt early in the match. I don't know what his schedule is but he's going to be on the show Friday night," Meltzer stated in his report.
It was also indicated that his next match in the WWE could be happening at Survivor Series, and he should be ready to go by that time. That essentially confirms his absence from WWE Payback and Fastlane, respectively in September and October.
WWE is seemingly not worried about the injury as they've already advertised Reigns for this week's Friday Night SmackDown for a 'Hail to the Chief' segment. It will be interesting to see whether he gets involved in any physical altercation on the night.
Meanwhile, the returning Jimmy Uso is set to acknowledge him as the Tribal Chief in this segment. Jey should also be lurking around as a showdown between the twins could be reserved for Payback PLE.
