Bengaluru, March 13: WWE superstars are involved in trouble yet again as numerous reports suggest that Jeff Hardy was involved in a car crash and was taken into police custody in Concord, North Carolina, the home-state for the high-flying superstar. However, Hardy was released later that day.

The exact location of the accident as reported by wrestlingINC.com is the Concord Parkway at 8.11 PM, and it took place where Concord Parkway South meets Bruton Smith Boulevard. After initial investigations, Jeff Hardy was let go by the Concord Police Department.

These are more updates on the situation as revealed by the source,

“The accident occurred around 8:11 pm on Concord Parkway. Hardy ran off the roadway and struck a guardrail, which caused his car to spin out into the middle of the right northbound lane. Hardy's license has been suspended for 30 days, and he has a court date scheduled for April 16th.

The police report lists an estimated $5,000 in damages to the 105 foot of guardrail, owned by the NC Department of Transportation. This could be a factor in any restitution that the court orders Hardy to pay.”

Following this, the status of the former WWE Raw tag team champion seems in jeopardy. He was supposed to be involved in a title match at the upcoming Wrestlemania 34 event. But, with this unprecedented situation coming out of nowhere, the creative team might want to keep him out of the equation. When it comes to controversial things, WWE does not take any risk, at all.

Plus, Jeff Hardy has always been a controversial name for the company. This man already suffered two suspensions in his WWE career, prior to this. The rules suggest that if one superstar suffers three such suspensions then his contract should be terminated. However it is to be noted that it happens only for 'positive tests for substances prohibited by the Wellness Policy "other than marijuana and alcohol."’

The popular superstar is out of action due to a torn rotator cuff suffered back in September 2017. It is likely that he will not be brought into WWE TV until the controversy gets over or he gets freed by the court. Addressing his actions, WWE released the following statement,

“Jeff Hardy is responsible for his own personal actions. We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials.”
