Updates on Maria Kanellis returning to WWE

Bengaluru, March 26: There have been a lot of speculations over Maria Kanellis and her husband, Mike Bennett's career after they decided to quit Impact Wrestling Promotion. It was earlier reported that WWE might be contacting the former female talent to have one more stint, here.

Taking it to the next step, "Wrestling Observer" Newsletter reported that the couple is being very secretive about their next destination, as of late. But, they are keeping in touch with the WWE officials negotiating a deal. This might lead to both Maria and Mike landing up on the WWE roster, very soon.

In addition, 434.com Facebook page gave us some updates stating that WWE is willing to take them under the contract mainly to use them on NXT. There's a certain void of big names in the developmental territory which can be filled up by them. They have experiences to perform all around the globe and can certainly be handy, there.



Mike Bennett was seen performing temporarily in the independent circuit following his departure from Impact Wrestling. He won a title on March 3rd in the North-East Wrestling Promotion. But, just a few days later, he lost it to Cody Rhodes.

Now, losing a title in such a short time is quite significant. It is being speculated that he will soon join WWE roster and hence would not continue to be involved in the storylines, there.

In a time when WWE is particularly looking for some former names to bring back under their wings, Maria's inclusion is what they needed. The company is probably looking to include them on the Total Divas reality TV series. Kelly Kelly is also expected to be back for the same purpose.

Mike and Maria had a successful career back in the Ring of Honor and the New Japan Pro-wrestling promotion. They also had a short but successful run in the Impact Wrestling where both of them were able to hold championships.
