Bengaluru, February 4: On this past Sunday night, the women of the WWE made history by competing in the first-ever Royal Rumble match. 30 superstars were seen in this monumental contest that handed away a championship shot to the winner at the grandest stage of them all known as Wrestlemania. Asuka was the first woman to earn the accolade by emerging victorious.

To give the women a platform to perform under the focal spotlight, the Women's Royal Rumble match was hosted at the main event match of the night pushing behind the men's division matchups which still is a rare thing in the WWE. Plus, Ronda Rousey's arrival once the contest was concluded earned more attention to the scenario.

Also, to give a huge boost a plethora of former names from the past women's and Divas division were called up. Names like Trish Stratus, Lita, Molly Holly, Torrie Wilson, Vickie Guerrero, Kelly Kelly, The Bella Twins, Michelle McCool were seen rumbling in this prestigious battle royal making the watching experience more pleasant for the fans.

Now, one of the reasons as of why so many of them were called up was to fill up the 30 spots which were not possible by the regular roster members. Another reason was spilled out by cagesideseats.com confirming so many names from the past.

According to the report, WWE has been filming a documentary on this auspicious night focussing on the Women's Evolution. The footages containing so many legends from the past will be seen in a WWE Network special in the future to give us more of these trailblazers. Check out the updates from SportsKeeda.com,

“It is but natural that WWE would want to film this historic night, featuring the past, present, and future of their Women's Division. Together, these women fought against all odds to bring the division at par with the men of the company. We suppose that the documentary that is being filmed will be used for a Network Special.”

This is not the first time that WWE is filming a documentary on the female superstars. Ever since the Women's Revolution has begun, a number of such WWE Network-originals to promote the hard works done by the female performers in order to demolish the barrier between the men's and women's division. With that being said, they are not far away from featuring in the main event of Wrestlemania.
