WrestleMania 40: Latest on John Cena’s appearance at WWE PLE

WrestleMania 40 is almost here and there are tons of speculations around what WWE has in store for us at the biggest event of the year. Active roster members are booked in big matches at the PLE while part-timers are also expected to appear.

Fans have long been speculating about the potential appearance of WWE Legend John Cena at WrestleMania 40. However, the latest reports from PWInsider only indicate that things are uncertain around Cena's presence at the biggest weekend of the year.

It's been reported that some within WWE circles believe that John Cena's arrival in town for WrestleMania festivities is evident but no official confirmation has been provided regarding his attendance.

On the flip side, it's now confirmed that The Cenation Leader's commitment to his ongoing acting career will significantly impact his availability for WWE events in the future, and that includes Wrestlemania 40.

The source mentioned that John Cena is set to begin filming the second season of the DC Series "The Peacemaker", a project that will keep him occupied from June through November until the Thanksgiving weekend.

It was further asserted that if Cena does appear at WrestleMania 40 this weekend, he won't be involved in physical spots on the show as movie insurance strictly prohibits taking bumps in the ring to avoid any sort of injuries.

The first season of Peacemaker starring the former WWE Champion was helmed by writer-director James Gunn. The success of the movie essentially cemented its status as a major hit for DC and Max renewed for the second season.

Dave Meltzer previously noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that regarding Stone Cold Steve Austin and John Cena's faces being shown on the production trucks during Raw weren't co-incident and that WWE might have a mystery slot planned for them.

That being said, the 16-time world champion's appearance at WrestleMania 40 is expected but he may not be involved in any physical capacity. He was last seen on WWE programming at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, last October.
