WrestleMania 40: Personal feud to possibly culminate at WWE’s grandest stage?

Bengaluru, August 11: WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia will be the next destination for WWE's biggest premium live event, next year. Some of the biggest ongoing storylines of the company will get culminated which possibly includes bad blood between two twins.

For over a decade in the WWE, The Usos were inseparable on TV on their way to becoming perhaps the Greatest of All Time in the tag team division. But things took a drastic turn at SummerSlam 2023 edition, last weekend.

At Money in the Bank in July, Jey Uso was able to pin Roman Reigns for the first time in more than three years at WWE Money in the Bank. Then at SummerSlam, Jimmy betrayed his brother Jey by attacking him in the main event.

It was Jimmy's turn-on that helped Roman to pick up a win in that Tribal Combat match with Jey. Reigns capitalized by delivering a spear through the table and thus retaining his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and status as the Tribal Chief.

After what transpired at SummerSlam, it's safe to assume that another personal saga between Jimmy and Jey will unfold on WWE TV on SmackDown. But WWE may not book them quickly into a match at Payback and rather hold it until WrestleMania.

WrestleVotes reports that "at least one creative force" in the WWE wants the pair to face off each other at WrestleMania 40, next April. But stretching the angle for over 35 weeks is also considered too long of a stretch.

Back at WrestleMania 10 in 1994, one such brother vs. brother match went down where Owen Hart bested his brother Bret Hart in the opener but ultimately the latter closed out the night as the WWF World Champion.

The teasing of The Usos getting split was done previously and Jimmy Uso openly admitted in an interview with Ariel Helwani of BT Sport about having his dream bout against Jey at the biggest stage of WrestleMania.

"We never pitched a split. This naturally, organically happened. If Jey is the one right now, let's go, and Vice versa. What's kept us wanting to be a tag team has put us here today."

WrestleMania 40 will take place on April 6, and April 7, 2024, at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Time will tell if The Usos will finally get the stage to showcase their singles caliber on one of those nights.
